MOTHERS OF THE DISAPPEARED - POPMART - SANTIAGO, CHILE

The Edge had at least two Country Gents around the time of POPMART through the Elevation tour. I have read from various sources that one was a 1964 or 1965 and the other was a 1967.

The one from the POPMART video posted to the left is most likely the 1964/1965.

One or both may have been damaged in the Hanover Quay flood in 2002; in which many of the bands instruments were damaged or completely destroyed. (per a source at Fernandes Guitars)

The Edge had a 1963 Gretsch Country Gentleman, used during "City Of Blinding Lights" on the 2005-2006 "Vertigo" tour.

1964:

Changes for 1964 were fairly minor: the tuners changed to "Kidney Bean" buttons, and, very late in the year, black felt pads replaced red on the double string mutes. More importantly, a SuperTron pickup was fitted in the neck position.
