Next to The Edge's Gibson Explorer, he's probably best know for using an all black 1979 (vintage still to be confirmed)
Fender Stratocaster. He can be seen using this guitar extensively during the Red Rocks/Under A Blood Red Sky VHS (rumoured
to be coming to DVD in Sept 2008 - finally!). This guitar seemed to be the Strat of choice until the later stages of
The Joshua Tree tour - when he began experimenting with the Danvel-Nelson 'Strat-style' guitar; switching again to Clapton
model Strats during the 1989-1990 Love Town tour.
